
Application Deadline
To be given priority consideration for the Fall 2026 semester, applications must be received before March 31, 2026.
Eligibility Requirements
- Before applying, review the OPM Student Guidance Document and OPM Student Agreement Form to make sure you understand the benefits, commitments, and eligibility requirements of the program.
- You must be a citizen or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
- You must be a full-time student at WSU with an overall GPA of 3.0 or above and accepted into one of these undergraduate or graduate programs:
- Undergraduate programs
- BS in Cybersecurity
- BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering and pursuing the coursework requirements of the CySER CAE-CO Fundamentals Certificate
- Graduate programs
- MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering with research focused on cybersecurity and a program of study that includes at least four 3-credit 400 or 500-level cybersecurity courses
- PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering with research focused on cybersecurity and a program of study that includes at least four 3-credit 400 or 500-level cybersecurity courses
- Undergraduate programs
- After graduation, you must be willing and able to work full-time in a qualifying position at an approved agency or qualifying organization for a period commensurate with the length of the scholarship.
Before Beginning Your Application
You will need the following items to complete your application:
- Three professional references (name and email), at least one of which must be from academia
- You will need to read the Student Agreement Form and complete the relevant fields on pages 8 and 9 (you are the “SFS Scholarship Recipient”)
- A copy of your most recent WSU transcript (found by going to myWSU, selecting “Academic Records” and then “View Unofficial Transcript”)
- A copy of your most recent resume or CV
- A statement of interest describing your passion for public service, why you would like to participate in CyberCorps at WSU, and any past experiences you have had in cybersecurity such as internships/employment, clubs, or personal projects.
